The Assignment:  

For this assignment, you are tasked with combining the things we have learned from compositing in Photoshop, text usage in imagery, and the transform tool. Thinking of lyrics to a song you like, you are to composite each word of those onto an image of architecture. Use your own photography to complete this assignment. 

Your task for this assignment is to make the text / words you composite onto the architectural / cityscape image look believable.

The Solution:  

Part 1:  North Wall Perspective - I painted the walls green using the perspective warp tool, then inserted the Adams State University's logo, cropped a photo of the School of Business digital sign and placed it on the wall, then cropped a photo of a School of Business MBA "Healthcare Administration Emphasis" pullup banner and placed those on the wall using the perspective warp tool.

Part 2:  East Wall Perspective - I painted the walls green using the perspective warp tool and added a gradient and some dodging to the two highest MBA emphasis signs to capture the original highlight at the top of the walls from the light source, then inserted the Adams State University's logo, cropped a photo of the School of Business digital sign and placed it on the wall, then cropped a photo of a School of Business MBA "Healthcare Administration Emphasis" pullup banner and placed those on the wall using the perspective warp tool, as they will be mounted with stand-offs, then I added the railing back in and matched the shadow's angle and color from the original shadow for the new railing and the signs as they will be mounted to the wall with stand-offs.

Part 3:  I photograph a portion of the Castle Rock Outlet Mall, then used the clone tool and various blending options to remove the store branding from five signs and then matched the fonts from the real life signs to the new lyric texts that was placed on the signs.  For this piece I used the lyrics from "The Joker" by Steve Miller Band.

​Parts 1 and 2 were presented to the Director of Adams State University School of Business, as a way to increase awareness and promote the School's MBA programs.
